According to the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council (SEC), the state governor, Umo Eno, has presented a budget proposal of N840.6 billion for the 2024 fiscal year. This is a decrease from the revised provision of ₦850.00 billion for the 2023 fiscal year. The budget estimate is expected to be deployed towards various sectoral reforms including agriculture, health, education, youths and women empowerment, rural development, physical infrastructure as well as the completion of abandoned projects by the administration of former governor Udom Emmanuel
