Wizkid Shows Love to His Muslim Roots in Lekki

Nigerian Afro Beat Mega star, Wizkid, surprised his fans and followers when he attended a Muslim gathering in Lekki, Lagos. The event was organized by the Muslim Alasalatu Movement, a religious and social group that promotes Islamic values and culture. Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is a proud son of a Muslim father and a Christian mother. He has often expressed his respect and appreciation for both faiths.

In a video that went viral on social media, Wizkid was seen wearing a white kaftan and a cap, blending in with the crowd of Muslim faithfuls. He greeted the elders and leaders of the movement, including his father, Alhaji Muniru Olatunji Balogun, who is a prominent member of the group. He then sat next to his father, listening attentively to the prayers and sermons. He also joined in the singing of Islamic songs and chants, showing his familiarity with the language and rituals.

Wizkid’s gesture was applauded by many of his fans and admirers, who praised him for his humility and tolerance. They also commended him for paying homage to his Muslim heritage and honoring his father. Some of his fellow celebrities, such as Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Burna Boy, also reacted positively to the video, sending him love and respect. Wizkid, who is known for his hit songs like “Ojuelegba”, “Joro”, and “Essence”, has proven once again that he is not only a talented musician, but also a role model and a bridge-builder.
