Terry Venables, Former England manager dies aged 80

Terry Venables, the former England football boss who led England to the semi-finals of the European Championships in 1996, has passed away at the age of 80 after a long illness . Venables was a well-known figure in the football world, having played for teams such as Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, and later managed Crystal Palace and QPR . He was also the manager of the England national team from 1994 to 1996, during which he led the team to the semi-finals of the 1996 European Championships . Venables was a highly respected figure in the football world, known for his sharp football brain and tactical acumen . He won the Second Division championship with Crystal Palace in 1979, reached the 1982 FA Cup Final with Queens Park Rangers, and won the Second Division in 1983 . With Barcelona, he won La Liga in 1985 and reached the 1986 European Cup Final, then guided Tottenham Hotspur to victory in the 1991 FA Cup Final . He also managed Middlesbrough and Leeds United . Venables’ passing is a great loss to the football community, and he will be remembered for his contributions to the sport. May he rest in peace.
