Date:

The Nigerian singer and songwriter denies any relationship with the American rapper, who featured her on his latest album.

Tems has set the record straight: she has no connection with Future. The 26-year-old artist, who rose to fame with her hit song “Try Me”, was featured on Future’s new album, I NEVER LIKED YOU, on the track “WAIT FOR U” alongside Drake. However, she said that the collaboration was done remotely and that she has no personal or professional ties with Future.

Tems made the clarification in an interview with The Beat FM, where she talked about her music, her influences, and her future plans. she was surprised when she received an email from Future’s team, asking her to send her vocals for the song. She agreed to do it because she liked the song and she wanted to expand her audience. Also she did not have any direct communication with Future or Drake, and that she only heard the final version of the song when it was released.

Tems said she has no intention of working with Future again, or any other foreign artist for that matter as she focused more on her own music and her own vision because she does not want to compromise her identity or her style and she is proud of being a Nigerian, an African, and that she wants to represent her culture and her people in her music and she is grateful for the opportunity and the exposure that the collaboration gave her. She said she is not interested in the fame or the money that she is happy with her fan base and her achievements.

Tem is currently working on her debut album, which will showcase her versatility and her creativity. She aims to inspire and empower other young artists, especially women, to pursue their dreams and express themselves through music.
