Toke Makinwa Shuts Down Haters After COP28 Summit

Date:

Media personality Toke Makinwa has revealed that she slayed at the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, despite the haters who tried to rain on her parade.

You may remember that Toke Makinwa was dragged on social media for being part of Nigeria’s 1411-man delegation to COP-28 with many wondering what she was doing there. Well, Toke has spilled the tea on the latest episode of her podcast, TokeMoments, where she had actress Ini Edo as her guest.

Ini Edo asked: “How did your attendance of the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai go? Did you get into the conversations from the panels?”

Toke Makinwa replied: “Yes, girl I did everything I set out to do with it [COP28]. I was just shook [by the uproar].

“And I think because Dubai is three hours [ahead of Nigeria], I woke up to see the shade on social media.

“For me, it started feeling serious when VIPs started calling me. And I think that for me was hilarious.

“I walked into this hotel in Dubai where they were a lot of VIPs, all of them had seen the shade and they started calling me ‘item seven’ and it was hilarious.

“We all just laughed. It was so hilarious.” Toke Makinwa added.

Toke Makinwa ended the podcast by saying that she was proud of herself for representing Nigeria at the summit and that she hoped to inspire other young women to pursue their dreams.

She said: “I’m so proud of myself for being at the COP28 summit. I hope I inspired other young women to go after their dreams and not let anyone tell them what they can or cannot do. I’m living proof that you can be anything you want to be and to the haters, I say: keep hating, because I’m living my best life.”
