Anthony Joshua put on a masterclass on Saturday night, as he dismantled Otto Wallin in the fifth round of their heavyweight showdown in Saudi Arabia.
Joshua, who was aiming for a colossal clash with Deontay Wilder, displayed his strength and agility as he overwhelmed the Swedish southpaw from the first bell. Wallin, who had tested Tyson Fury in 2019, had no solution to Joshua’s barrage, and his corner surrendered after he was knocked down twice in the fifth round.
Joshua enhanced his record to 27-3, with 23 knockouts, while Wallin endured his second loss in 28 bouts. The former undisputed champion celebrated his triumph with a thunderous roar, as he declared his dominance over the rest of the division. “That would be awesome,” Joshua said.
“Every fight brings me closer to my ultimate goal, so if I keep on winning it will happen naturally. And if you don’t, you go back to the drawing board.”
Finishing the year with a third victory is not something that Joshua is content with. He has other aspirations in mind.
“We have bigger dreams than that, bigger dreams than that,” he said. “I don’t rejoice when I win these fights. I rejoice when I win the titles.”
