Nigerian superstar Davido has once again proven his global appeal and dominance as he sold out the iconic O2 Arena in London for the third time in his career. The 20,000-capacity venue was filled with ecstatic fans who witnessed Davido’s monumental performance on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
The show, dubbed ‘Davido Invasion’ (Timeless Edition), was part of his worldwide tour to promote his fourth and most successful album, “Timeless”. The album, which was released in 2023, has been breaking records and setting new standards for African music, both in terms of sales and streaming numbers.
“Timeless” debuted at number 10 on the UK Albums Chart, making Davido the first African artist to achieve such a feat. The album also topped the Apple Music charts in over 40 countries, including the US, where it reached number 2. Additionally, Davido made history by having nine songs from the album on the Apple Music Global Daily Top 100, the most by any African artist ever.
The album showcases Davido’s versatility and creativity, as he blends his signature Afrobeats sound with influences from R&B, rap, dancehall, and pop.
