It’s that time of year again when the music industry comes together and announces the nominations for the BRIT Awards.
The past 12 months has been another great year for British music with acts topping the charts around the world.
This year’s awards were designed by Rachel Jones where it will be unveiled at London’s The 02 Arena on Saturday 2nd March.
There are four new categories which are set to be introduced this too – R&B Act, Alternative/Rock Act, Dance Act, Pop Art, Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act.
The winners will be announced on the night and will be decided via public vote through Instagram. You can start voting on Thursday 1st February at midday and it will close on Thursday 15th February at 6pm.
Singer/songwriter RAYE is leading the pack with a record-breaking seven nominations beating previous record holders Gorillaz, Craig David and Robbie Williams who each had six.
This year it is all about the women with over half of this year’s nominations female.
