The fate of the 16 teams remaining in the oldest and most prestigious football competition in the world was decided on Sunday afternoon, as the draw for the fifth-round proper of the Emirates FA Cup was conducted.
The draw was hosted by Seema Jaswal, who was joined by former England international Glen Johnson, who won the FA Cup with both Chelsea and Liverpool. The pair revealed the matchups during the half-time break of the fourth-round clash between Norwich City and Liverpool at Carrow Road.
The biggest surprise of the fourth round was the stunning victory of Maidstone United, who play in the sixth tier of English football, over Premier League side Burnley. The Stones will hope to continue their fairy-tale run when they visit either Sheffield Wednesday or Coventry City, who also need a replay to settle their tie.
The fifth-round proper will take place in the week commencing Monday 26 February, with the winners earning a place in the quarter-finals and a cheque of £225,000 from the competition prize fund.
