You may know him as Brain Jotter, the hilarious skit maker who cracks you up with his witty jokes and funny expressions. But did you know that he used to dress up as a woman for his comedy sketches?
That’s right, Brain Jotter, whose real name is Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie, revealed in a recent interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels TV’s Rubbin’ Minds that he started his career as a crossdresser, playing the role of Madam Ogadi, a sassy and outspoken church lady.
However, he soon realized that cross-dressing was not his cup of tea and decided to switch to a more authentic and original character.
“I have a friend who is advising me to start making content as a crossdresser. I’m not interested because I’ve tried it before,” he said.
He explained that he quit cross-dressing because it “is not sustainable except you are doing it exceptionally well.”
He added, “There was a time I was creating content with the character Madam Ogadi in a church and the audience were applauding my performances. So it got to my head and it was almost a niche for me. But then I realized that cross-dressing is not sustainable for me. I just don’t buy the idea because it won’t last. People might enjoy it once or twice, but you’re not a woman. Except you are doing it exceptionally well.”
He also pointed out the obvious flaw in his cross-dressing act: “You can’t be wearing a woman’s clothes with beards.”
Brain Jotter, who has over 2 million followers on Instagram, is not only a talented comedian, but also a musician and an actor. He disclosed that he was making inroads into Nollywood, hinting that some of his movies would be released this year.
He said he had already done music, and that he was open to exploring different genres and styles.
Brain Jotter is one of the most popular and versatile skit makers in Nigeria, and he has proven that he can make people laugh without compromising his identity or integrity.
