Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has come out to defend his colleague, Lizzy Anjorin, who was recently accused of stealing from a vendor at the Lagos Island market, Idumota. The theft allegation has sparked a lot of controversy and backlash on social media, with some fans calling for Lizzy’s arrest and prosecution.
However, Lizzy has vehemently denied the accusation, claiming that it was a setup by her enemies. In a video she posted on her Instagram page, she explained what really happened at the market, and how she was innocent of any wrongdoing.
Yomi Fabiyi, who is known for his outspoken and controversial views, has expressed his solidarity and support for Lizzy, describing her as a beautiful soul, a hardworking mother, a business owner, a filmmaker, and a giver. He also praised her for her courage and resilience in the face of adversity.
In a lengthy post on his Instagram page, Yomi wrote:
“I stand with Lizzy Anjorin. She is a beautiful soul, a hardworking mother, a business owner, a filmmaker, and a giver. She has been through a lot in life, and she has overcome many challenges with grace and dignity. She is not a thief, she is not a fraudster, she is not a criminal. She is a victim of envy, hatred, and wickedness from those who cannot stand her success and achievements. She is a role model and an inspiration to many, especially women. She deserves respect, love, and appreciation, not condemnation, vilification, and persecution. I am proud of her, and I will always stand by her. She is my friend, my sister, and my colleague. Lizzy Anjorin, you are not alone. God is with you, and so are we, your true fans and friends. Stay strong, stay focused, stay blessed.”
Yomi’s post has received mixed reactions from his followers, with some commending him for his loyalty and friendship, and others criticizing him for supporting Lizzy without verifying the facts of the case. Some have also accused him of being biased and hypocritical, as he has been involved in several feuds and scandals with other Nollywood actors and actresses in the past.
