In a dramatic twist, US President Joe Biden has unleashed a fiery retort in response to an investigation that accused him of mishandling top-secret files and questioned his ability to recall key life events.
During an unexpected news briefing on Thursday evening, Mr. Biden stood firm, declaring, “My memory is not merely intact; it’s unyielding!”
He vehemently rebuked the suggestion that he couldn’t remember when his son passed away, firing back, “How the hell dare he raise that?”
The inquiry revealed that Mr. Biden had “willfully retained and disclosed” classified files, yet curiously, no charges were filed against him.
Department of Justice Special Counsel Robert Hur, who spent five intense hours grilling the 81-year-old president, concluded that Mr. Biden’s memory had “significant limitations.”
But Mr. Biden, visibly emotional, didn’t hold back during Thursday night’s press conference. “Frankly,” he declared, “when I was asked that question, I thought to myself, ‘None of their damn business.’”
He continued, “I don’t need anyone to remind me when my son, Beau Biden, passed away.”
And there’s more: during the special counsel’s probing, Mr. Biden found himself embroiled in an international crisis—the Israel-Gaza war—adding to the intensity of the moment.
The inquiry also unearthed a surprising twist: Mr. Biden had shared sensitive material from his hand-written notebooks with a ghostwriter for his memoir, a revelation he staunchly denied from the podium.
