Marvel Studios has finally unveiled the cast of its upcoming blockbuster, The Fantastic Four, and fans are going wild.
The announcement came as a surprise Valentine’s Day gift from the studio, which posted a heartwarming image of the four actors on its social media accounts.
The Fantastic Four, also known as Marvel’s first family, are a group of superheroes who gained their powers after being exposed to cosmic rays during a scientific mission.
They are led by the brilliant and elastic Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), played by Pedro Pascal, best known for his roles in The Mandalorian and Game of Thrones. His wife, the powerful Susan Storm (The Invisible Woman), is portrayed by Vanessa Kirby, who starred in Mission: Impossible – Fallout and The Crown.
Their loyal friend, the clobberin’ Ben Grimm (The Thing), is brought to life by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who appeared in The Punisher and Girls. And their hotheaded brother-in-law, the charismatic Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), is played by Joseph Quinn, who recently joined the cast of Stranger Things.
The Fantastic Four have been a staple of Marvel comics since 1961, and have been adapted into several animated and live-action films, but none of them have been produced by Marvel Studios, the powerhouse behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the introduction of the Fantastic Four into the MCU, especially after the studio acquired the rights to the characters from 20th Century Fox in 2019. The film will be directed by Jon Watts, who helmed the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tom Holland.
Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four is slated to hit theaters on July 25, 2025, as part of Phase Five of the MCU. The Fantastic Four will also likely cross paths with other MCU heroes and villains, such as Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Thor, and Kang the Conqueror.
The announcement of the Fantastic Four cast has generated a lot of excitement and buzz among fans and critics, who have praised the studio’s choice of actors and expressed their high expectations for the film. Some have even speculated that the Fantastic Four could be the next Avengers, leading the MCU into a new era of superhero adventures.
Whether they will live up to the hype remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Marvel Studios has once again proven that they know how to make a fantastic announcement.
