Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, was left devastated after discovering that his music studio in Sango-Ota, Ogun State, had been raided by merciless robbers on Saturday morning, February 17, 2024.
The singer, who is currently abroad, took to his Instagram page to share the shocking news with his fans and followers, lamenting that all his valuable items and studio equipment worth millions of naira were carted away by the intruders.
He also accused some of his close associates of being behind the heinous act, saying that they had always harbored envy and malice towards him. He warned them to beware of karma and divine justice, as their conscience would not let them rest.
“Evil people around me. Thank God man is not God. Big God will do it again. ZehNation studio.” He wrote in one of his posts, accompanied by a video of the burgled studio.
In another post, he said, “Trust nobody. If you are going out, carry your ‘aje’ with you. It has been a while that they had been trying to do this. They have always wanted to burst (rob) my studio. Hustle o, so that another man’s property will not ‘enter your eyes’. It is those that are close to me that did it. Hunger wants to kill them. They will beg me for help; yet, they will still come to steal from me.”
Portable, who is known for his controversial and explicit songs, had recently survived an attack by some hoodlums who assaulted him and damaged his car. He had claimed that the attack was orchestrated by some of his rivals in the music industry, who were jealous of his success.
The singer’s studio robbery has sparked mixed reactions from his fans and colleagues, with some sympathizing with him and others mocking him. Some of his fellow musicians have expressed their solidarity and support for him, while others have advised him to beef up his security and be more careful with his circle of friends.
