  • Johnny Vegas: The Man Who Can’t Wake Up

Johnny Vegas is a famous comedian, actor, writer, and director. He is known for his thick Lancashire accent, husky voice, chunky appearance, angry comedic rants, and use of surreal humour. But he has a secret that few people know: he struggles to get out of bed every morning.

In a recent interview, Vegas revealed that he needs eight alarms to wake up, and sometimes even that is not enough.

He said: “I have one alarm that goes off at 6am, then another one at 6.15am, then another one at 6.30am, and so on until 7.30am. And then I have a backup alarm on my phone that goes off at 8am, just in case I snooze all the others.”

Vegas explained that he has always been a heavy sleeper, and that he often misses important appointments and events because of his inability to get up on time. He said:

“It’s a nightmare. I’ve missed flights, meetings, auditions, you name it. I once slept through a whole day of filming for a TV show. They had to rewrite the script and shoot around me.”

He added that he has tried various methods to overcome his problem, such as drinking coffee, taking cold showers, and using a sunrise simulator, but none of them worked.

“The only thing that works is having someone physically drag me out of bed. But that’s not always possible, especially when I’m travelling or staying in hotels. Sometimes I have to bribe the staff to come and knock on my door.”

Vegas admitted that his condition has affected his personal and professional life, and that he wishes he could be more like other people who can wake up easily and enjoy the morning.

“I envy those people who can jump out of bed and be ready to face the day. I feel like I’m missing out on so much. Don’t know why I’m like this. Maybe it’s genetic, maybe it’s psychological, maybe it’s just laziness. But I can’t help it. I’m Johnny Vegas, the man who can’t wake up.”he added
