Kunle Remi honors late Nollywood legends as he wins Trailblazer award

It was a night of celebration and tribute for actor Kunle Remi, who received the trailblazer of the year award at the prestigious Silverbird Man of the Year Awards. The award recognized Remi’s exceptional achievements and contributions to the Nigerian film industry, which he has graced with his versatile and captivating roles.

Remi took to Instagram to share his excitement and appreciation for the honor, as well as to reflect on his journey in the industry.

He posted: “I’m overwhelmed with joy and gratitude as I was celebrated last night @silverbirdtv MAN OF THE YEAR AWARDS. What an amazing feeling to be recognized and appreciated for doing what I love.”

“Being on stage with the legendary @nancyisimeofficial was not a coincidence; we go way back to our first gig as models in a Globacom ad in 2009. We had no idea we would come this far.”

“Our faith in God and our passion for our craft brought us here. And this is just the beginning. God has more in store for us.”

Remi also paid a heartfelt homage to two late Nollywood icons, Mr. Ibu and Sisi Quadri, who he said inspired him and paved the way for him and many others.

He wrote: “This award is dedicated to the true trailblazers of Nollywood, the ones who made us laugh, cry, and dream with their art, especially late Mr. Ibu & Sisi Quadri. You are gone but not forgotten. Thank you for your legacy. This is also for you, my family, friends, and fans. You are the reason I do this. We rock forever. Thank you.”
