Passenger getting stuck in airplane toilet for 35 minutes and has unlikely hero

Date:

There’s nothing worse than being desperate to go for the loo on an airplane, let alone if there is a queue to use it.

But one passenger called Brent, 34, got stuck in an airplane toilet for 35 minutes. Yes, you read that right, a whopping 35 minutes.

However, he was thankfully rescued by one particular person who you might not expect.

35 minutes and counting

Brent was with his wife on a Delta Airlines flight from Salt Lake City, Utah, to New Orleans, Louisiana.

His wife shared the experience on the online forum site Reddit. She captioned the thread: ‘My Husband got Stuck in a Delta airplane bathroom for 35 minutes.’

She then explained what happened more in detail, and wrote: “On a recent Delta Air Lines flight from Salt Lake City to New Orleans, my husband, Brent, got up to use the bathroom, leaving me, my four year old and two year old in our row. No big deal, I knew I’d get my help with our two toddlers back in a jiffy.

“After 5 minutes, I wondered what was going on. Was he using this time as a much-needed break from my children’s whiney demands and frequent tantrums? I didn’t blame him.”

She went on to say 10 minutes later one of her children asked ‘where’s daddy?’ before a flight attendant interrupted and said the word ‘stuck.’

Before realising it was her husband there was two flight attendants trying to pull open the bathroom door trying to get Brent out.

She went on to say it was the pilot’s turn to try and yank open the door. Brent’s wife even admitted to asking for a refund from the flight due to the loo mishap but was denied.

Airplane mishap

Reddit users rushed to comment on the airplane mishap, with one person writing: “I thought they’d finally give up and just tell him to be seated during landing.”

Another joked: “Sounds like a s****y situation.”

A third quipped: “I would have sat in the toilet with my pants down and scream ” yo, what the faaaaaack” when they finally opened the door.”

Another said: “Plot twist: Brent was holding the door closed from the other side just trying to get a few more minutes away from his wife Karen.”

Meanwhile, others asking for a refund was too much, with one person writing: “I think a refund is excessive. But I’m surprised that Delta did give me a boatload of SkyMiles to make up for the inconvenience..”

A second said: “lol full refund for an accident that was beyond anyone’s control = Karen consumers for ya.”

Another commented: “Lmao a refund?! Girl quit playing lol.”

Do you think she should have got a refund?
