One woman in her 40s has admitted she is having sex like she is in her 20s all thanks to a ‘female Viagra.’
Roxanne Merchant, 44, began not liking sex after suffering from peri-menopause.
However, in a bid to find an answer she decided to give the O-Shot a try.
The treatment costs £899 a pop and is also known as a ‘vampire facial’ for the vagina. It involves injecting a woman’s own blood into the area.
Female Viagra
Ms Merchant, who hails from Leeds, noticed a difference after just one shot. Speaking to the Daily Mail, she said: “I am having sex like I am 20 again and having to catch my breath after orgasms – even my partner was like ‘wow.’
“[Prior to this], every time I had sex I needed to use lubricant more and more. If I used anything like bath bombs, even organic ones, they made everything worse.
“It got to the stage where I was having to wear granny pants so I wouldn’t be as irritated and sore but I [still] would notice small scratches or rips or tears down below because of the dryness.”
The injections are made up of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and like ‘liquid gold’ due to its colour and number of benefits. Elsewhere, the platelets are a type of blood cell which is good for healing.
‘O-Shot’
Ms Merchant discovered the ‘O-Shot’ after looking for treatments for peri-menopause. She also knew some people who had the treatment done in the US.
Then she came across Dr Farzana Khan, who was the only doctor in the north of England offering the procedure. She had her PRP extracted by RegenLab before it was inserted into her vagina.
Ms Merchant said: “I was a little nervous at first and didn’t know what to expect but the first part of the treatment was a consultation on what to expect.”
She said the procedure was painless and didn’t even have a “mild discomfort.”
Mrs Merchant continued: “A course of three treatments was recommended to me and now the sensation and hydration is just amazing. This really changed my life. It’s like the female version of Viagra.
“Women should not suffer in silence and have to use things like lube when we know it’s sticky and just adds to the problem.”
She added that her confidence in the bedroom has “gone through the roof” and doesn’t have to rush to the bathroom to shower after having sex.
The procedure has also enabled her to “orgasm through her G-spot” which she wasn’t able to do before.
NHS UK only offers PRP injections to patients with injured knees or tendons to stimulate healing. However, private healthcare now uses it as a libido booster.
Treatment
The treatment’s said to enhance sensation, help women’s orgasms and tighten vaginal laxity.
Meanwhile, clinics also say it can stimulate collagen production. This occurs with peri-menopause and can lead to burning sensations, bleeding and pain during sex.
