President Bola Tinubu has expressed strong disapproval of the escalating kidnapping incidents across the nation, asserting that those involved should be classified and dealt with as terrorists.
This statement was made by Tinubu at a Ramadan dinner attended by members of the Federal judiciary, under the leadership of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
The president emphasized, “Kidnappers must be regarded as terrorists. Their actions are cowardly. They have been degraded and now resort to soft targets. They infiltrate schools, abduct children, and sow discord. To eradicate them, we must treat them on par with terrorists, and I assure you, we will eliminate them.”
The dinner was graced by the presence of both serving and retired judicial officers, including two former CJNs, Justice Mahmud Mohammed and Justice Walter Onnoghen.
