Portable, the street-pop artiste, has found himself in a tight spot after his extravagant money-spraying antics. In light of the recent six-month jail sentence handed down to crossdresser Bobrisky for Naira mutilation, Portable is now pleading with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for forgiveness
Once known for showering his fans, Portable now expresses remorse. In a recent live chat, he declared that his actions were intended to spread kindness. However, the fear of repercussions has led him to change his ways. He solemnly announced that he would no longer be spraying money and urged his fans to set up bank accounts for transfers instead. In his own words: “I didn’t deface the Naira; I help a lot of people. After God, it’s the government. Please forgive me if you have videos of me spraying money—no more spraying of money”
It seems even the most exuberant artists are reconsidering their cash-flinging habits in the wake of legal consequences. Let’s hope Portable’s plea reaches sympathetic ears at the EFCC.
