Omotunde Adebowale David, a well-known Nollywood actress and media personality, also known as Lolo1, has stated that recent statistics suggest that 80% of those who frequent the gym are engaged in professional sex work.
She made this statement during the latest episode of the ‘Say My Piece’ podcast.
“According to statistics, 80% of gym attendees are now career sex workers,” Lolo declared.
Her guest on the show, Kemen, a former Big Brother Naija contestant and fitness trainer, challenged these statistics, arguing that those who compiled them were generalizing based on their own experiences.
He argued, “The person behind these statistics is likely a career sex worker who has successfully used the gym for their profession.
“Society often oversimplifies commercial sex work. If it were as easy or lucrative as many believe, the average woman would likely… Who wants to struggle?
“Even as a man, if being intimate with women was the easy route… Anyone who has experienced life and health improvements from the gym would never make such a claim [that gymgoers are sex workers].”
The fitness trainer asserted that he has never made inappropriate advances towards any of his clients during his career.
“In my decade-long career as a personal trainer, if you have been my client or know someone who has been my client with whom I’ve had a sexual relationship, present your evidence,” he confidently stated.”
