Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have touched down in Nigeria for an unofficial royal tour that is set to last for three days. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in the African country after a secret reunion in London.
Their visit comes after Meghan took a solo flight from Los Angeles to meet her husband at Heathrow Airport’s VIP Windsor Suite. The couple subsequently boarded a British Airways flight to Abuja, where they were invited by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to interact with wounded soldiers
Meghan, wearing black trousers and a brown jacket, and Harry, donning a black jacket and trousers, are thought to be staying at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja during their trip.
Their itinerary includes stops at a school, a military hospital to meet injured service members, and a training session for the charity organization Nigeria: Unconquered, which collaborates with the Invictus Games.
Additionally, Meghan will co-host an event on Women in Leadership with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the director-general of the World Trade Organisation.
On the last day of their visit, the couple will attend a basketball camp with Giants of Africa, a cultural reception, and a polo fundraiser for Nigeria: Unconquered.
This is the first time Harry and Meghan are visiting Nigeria together. Other travellers were held back while they were escorted off into a waiting blacked out minibus.
