Luis Enrique, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has asserted that the team will thrive even in the absence of Kylian Mbappe.
On Friday, Mbappe confirmed his departure from the reigning Ligue 1 champions, set to take place this summer.
Enrique expressed his understanding of the decision made by the club’s top scorer to conclude his seven-year tenure. “I can only speak highly of Kylian Mbappe, both as a footballer and as an individual,” he said.
“I respect his decision. He has been with us for seven years, becoming a club icon in the process. He has devoted himself entirely to this club, and in return, the club has given him just as much. I wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors.
“I take great pride in having had him on our team. He has contributed significantly to our success and has always led by example, doing so with a constant smile,” Enrique shared with the press on Saturday.
