President Bola Tinubu, via his Media and Publicity Special Adviser, Ajuri Ngelale, has informed Nyesom Wike, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and others that he will remain neutral in the current crisis engulfing Rivers State.
Ngelale stated that those expecting President Tinubu to support their side in the political turmoil would be let down.
During a TVC interview, the Special Adviser clarified the President’s stance, asserting that Tinubu will not tolerate any efforts to undermine the Rivers government.
Ngelale expressed, “I am of the belief that anyone who thinks that their actions, whether at the Federal level, State level, or within the State’s legislative or executive branches, if they are relying on Mr. President to favor them in this matter, they are mistaken and will be disappointed.”
“Mr. President will not do that. His focus will be on ensuring that everyone has what they need to function effectively.
“He will also ensure that any attempts to hinder the Rivers State Government from conducting its affairs in a manner that benefits the people of Rivers will not be tolerated by this President or anyone else.
“Therefore, it’s crucial for all stakeholders to understand that Mr. President will not favor any side,” he added.
