Date:

The Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 23 individuals suspected of internet fraud in Enugu State.

This information was revealed by the EFCC in a recent post on X.com.

According to the statement, “On May 10, 2024, the suspects were taken into custody in Igboeze, Nsukka, and the city of Enugu, following credible intelligence about their alleged involvement in online criminal activities. A variety of items were seized from them, including three cars, mobile phones, laptops, a Point Of Sale (POS) machine, and numerous documents that could potentially incriminate them.

As soon as the investigations are finalized, the suspects will face legal proceedings.”

In addition, the EFCC reported last Friday that a total of 108 suspected internet fraudsters were arrested in separate operations carried out in Cross River and Osun states.
