Seyi Vibez shares his experience of falling victim to a scam during his attempt to join Wizkid’s record label

Date:

Nigerian singer, Seyi Vibez recounts a troubling experience of being scammed by someone posing as Wizkid‘s manager while seeking to secure a record deal at 13.

During a recent interview with Wazobia 95.1 Lagos, the singer revealed that he had always dreamed of being signed to Wizkid’s record label, Starboy Entertainment, ever since he was 13 years old.

He recounted his experience, explaining how he longed to be part of the Starboy crew and turned to Google to search “how to register for Starboy Entertainment.”

During his search, he found a phone number and called it. The person who answered claimed to be Wizkid’s manager and requested N10,000 for a form.

Trusting their assurances that he would be invited for a screening process and given the opportunity to perform for Wizkid, he sold his phone to pay for the form. However, after making the payment, he was blocked.

He shared this story to caution someone who asked about joining his record label, Vibe Inc., advising them not to register online.
