Nigerian vocalist Tems has revealed that she was required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before she could collaborate with American icon Beyoncé.
In an interview with the New York Times, Tems shared her journey of working with the international sensation Beyoncé on her 2022 album “Reinassance”.
She recalled the moment when her team informed her about the NDA, saying, “My team just reached out to me saying, ‘Firstly, we have a document for you to sign.’ I was completely taken aback. Like, What?!” This was her response to New York Times’ Culture Reporter Reggie Ugwu, reflecting her thrill.
During the interview, Tems revealed that she was presented with an NDA by her team, which she agreed to sign when she was invited to collaborate with Beyoncé in Los Angeles. The result of Tems’ studio time with the singer is the track “Move,” which is included in Beyoncé’s Grammy-nominated album “Renaissance.”
Besides Beyoncé, Tems has also worked with other global stars such as Drake, Rihanna, and Future. Notably, both Drake and Tems were featured in Future’s Grammy-winning song “Wait For U.”
