The Federal Capital Territory Administration has declared a shift in the start date for the commercial operations of the Abuja Rail Mass Transit System, also known as the Abuja Light Rail.
An announcement made by Tony Ogunleye, the FCT Director of Press, revealed that the inauguration will now take place on Democracy Day, which falls on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. The ceremony will be presided over by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at 1:00 pm.
Previously, the ceremony was set to occur on Monday, May 27, 2024. The inauguration of the commercial operations is a significant event, marking the first anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
