Emir Sanusi’s Triumph: 40 Council Members Pledge Allegiance at Maiden Palace Court

Date:

In a historic gathering, the 16th Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, presided over the inaugural emirate council meeting at the majestic Gidan Rumfa palace.

This momentous occasion marked his official assumption of the emirate’s superior responsibility, following his recent reinstatement by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

With unwavering loyalty, 40 district heads and esteemed senior council members renewed their allegiance to the new emir, effectively quelling the lingering tensions surrounding the emirship in the state.

As they took their place in the palace, each district head and council member prostrated themselves before Emir Sanusi, symbolizing their wholehearted endorsement of his rightful position as the Emir of Kano.

Among those paying homage were the revered kingmakers: Madaki, Wali, Makama, Sarkin Bai, and Sarkin Dawaki Mai tuta. Additionally, figures like Waziri, Turaki, and Danburan joined the assembly, representing the rich tapestry of Kano’s cultural heritage.

Emir Sanusi’s return to the throne was met with admiration and jubilation. Emerging on a white royal horse from his inner palace in the iconic Gidan Rumfa, he graciously acknowledged warm greetings from his subjects. Prior to the council meeting, he met with various interest groups, including vigilantes, women’s organizations, and well-wishers, all eager to express their respect and loyalty.
