FC Barcelona has officially announced Hansi Flick as their new manager.
The 59-year-old German tactician will replace club legend Xavi Hernandez as the new head coach. Flick has signed a two-year contract until the summer of 2026.
FC Barcelona and Hansi Flick have reached an agreement for the German to be the coach of the men’s first team until June 30, 2026,” the statement from the club read.
“The new coach signed a contract at the Club’s offices in an event with the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta; the first vice-president in charge of the sports area, Rafa Yuste; and the Club’s sports director, Anderson Luís de Souza, Deco.”
Flick has been without a job since September 2023 when he was relieved of his duties as the manager of the German national team.
The former Bayern Munich manager will also be bringing in two assistants in the form of Toni Tapalovic and Marcus Sorg, who also have signed until 2026.
Hansi Flick said: “I’m proud to be at Barça, it’s a wonderful and incredible club really”.

As reported previously, keeping in line with the club’s financial situation, Flick has agreed to a salary of just €3 million (before taxes) with additional bonuses for winning La Liga and the UEFA Champions League
