The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s first year in office, considering it a period of progress and development.
Despite facing challenges such as a retrogressive economy, treasury looting, and infrastructural decay, Tinubu has demonstrated political will more effectively than the previous eight years under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In contrast to the previous administration, which allegedly suppressed the South-East region economically, Tinubu’s administration has fostered hope and progress. Initiatives like ongoing road reconstruction and rehabilitation projects have contributed to economic activity and inclusivity in the South-East.
Addressing lingering challenges, Ohanaeze calls on Tinubu to halt property demolitions in Lagos, release Nnamdi Kanu, enhance trade policies, and reopen the Calabar Seaport to stimulate further economic growth. The organization also advocates for the removal of underperforming ministers to drive progress and efficiency.
Ohanaeze reaffirms its commitment to partnering with the government and urges opposition leaders to collaborate with Tinubu in rebuilding the nation for prosperity and progress
