Date:

Adeyemi Ikuforiji, the former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has been acquitted of all money laundering charges.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had filed these charges against him over 12 years ago. Alongside his former Personal Assistant, Oyebode Atoyebi, Ikuforiji faced 54 counts of money laundering involving N338.8 million.

After a lengthy trial spanning over a decade, the court finally delivered its judgment. Ikuforiji maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings, and on Monday, he was acquitted of all 54 counts.
