Celebrated food blogger Sisi Yemmie recently announced the birth of her twins, a surprising and joyous addition to her family. Known for her engaging culinary content and vibrant personality, Sisi Yemmie’s announcement has captivated her followers.
In a heartfelt YouTube video posted on Sunday, July 21, 2024, she shared her shock and delight at becoming a mother of five, her journey through this unexpected pregnancy, and the adjustments her family is making.
Sisi Yemmie and her husband, already parents to three children, were not planning on expanding their family. The discovery of her pregnancy came as a complete surprise, compounded by the revelation that she was carrying twins. Sisi Yemmie expressed her astonishment in the video, saying,
“If you told Yemisi two years ago that she was going to have more babies, I would have said you were a liar. If you told me I was going to give birth to twins, I would have said, ‘You’re a liar,’ because I don’t know how that happened.”
The shock of the twin pregnancy led Sisi Yemmie to temporarily withdraw from social media. She explained, “Sometimes when a thing like this happens to you, it can cause you to retreat and I think that was what happened to me. I just could not function like normal because I was in a different headspace.” This period of retreat allowed her to process the overwhelming news and prepare for the significant changes ahead.
The transition from a family of five to a family of seven has been a major adjustment for Sisi Yemmie and her loved ones. She candidly discussed the challenges and joys of this new reality.
“It’s been a journey trying to adjust to the family. We are a family of seven now. That’s a lot. When I go out, some people are so confused. They are like, ‘Whose babies are these?’ A lot of my friends and even family members didn’t know that I was pregnant. That was how much I kept it to myself that I did,”
“This was my fourth c-session and it came as twins. You can imagine how I was feeling when I was pregnant and the anxiety. I am still healing from the surgery, but I’m in a good place.” she said.
