The Redeemed Christian Church of God (Champion Zonal Headquarters) in Kontagora, Niger State was burnt to the ground, by unknown men. This attack took place on Saturday August 10, 2024 at about 3:00 AM, leading to the complete destruction of the building that had served as a place of worship for 20 years. RCCG Kontagora had previously faced a similar assault, with threats to prevent its completion. The recurrence is a tragic display of violence, echoing the lack of religious tolerance.

Church leaders and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State have strongly condemned the attack, labeling it as barbaric and calling for swift action from the authorities to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by religious communities in the region, with leaders emphasizing the importance of protecting freedom of worship.

Despite the devastating loss, the RCCG Kontagora headquarters led by figures like Elder John Aboje, have expressed a resolve to remain steadfast in their faith and commitment to their community. The case is currently under investigation by the police in Kontagora.
