Vice President Kashim Shettima In a call for unity and collective action, has urged Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Tinubu as he undertakes the formidable task of addressing the nation’s socio-political, economic, and security challenges. Shettima made this appeal on Thursday in Abuja during the launch of the book Navigating the Politics of Universal Education Policies in Nigeria, authored by Prof. Modupe Adelabu, a distinguished academic in Educational Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
During his address, Vice President Shettima reassured Nigerians that the impact of the tough measures currently being implemented by the Tinubu administration would soon become evident. He stressed that the focus should not be on lamenting the nation’s past or present difficulties, but rather on working together to find solutions to the core challenges facing the country.
“In President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we have a leader in whom we can place our trust. This is not about playing politics; I am speaking from the heart,” Shettima said. “I have seen the soul of Bola Tinubu, and he has a good soul. The President has demonstrated the courage and willpower to make far-reaching decisions, even when they come at a significant cost.
Using a metaphor to describe the current situation, Shettima likened the difficult reforms to the pains of childbirth, which are followed by the joy of new life. He expressed confidence that history would judge President Tinubu favorably for his efforts, despite the challenges. “When a woman is about to give birth, it’s a very painful process, but after the child is born, it’s a cause for celebration. I believe that posterity will be very kind to this man” Kashim Shettima said.
Shettima’s remarks highlight the administration’s belief in the long-term benefits of their policies and underscore the need for national solidarity during this period of transformation.
