Perry’s Death: 5 Charged with Ketamine Distribution

Date:

United States Attorney Martin Estrada announced at news conference on Thursday morning that charges have been filed against five individuals, including two medical doctors and a personal assistant, in connection with the death of actor Matthew Perry. The charges stem from an investigation into the distribution of ketamine, which was determined to be the cause of Perry’s death by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to Attorney Estrada, the investigation revealed a large-scale underground network responsible for supplying ketamine to Perry and others. The defendants, who include a live-in assistant and a major drug supplier known as ‘the Ketamine Queen,’ allegedly exploited Perry’s addiction for financial gain, despite knowing the risks.

The investigation was conducted by multiple agencies, including the Los Angeles Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California. Court documents reveal that Perry had been increasingly using ketamine in the days leading up to his death, and that his personal assistant had administered multiple injections on the day of his death.

Attorney Estrada emphasized that the defendants’ actions demonstrated a callous disregard for Perry’s well-being and a prioritization of profits over his safety.
