Yinka Ash, CEO of Ashluxe brand, has released a statement addressing the incident between his building’s security and Shan George and Caroline Hutchings on August 18, 2024.
Ash acknowledged the incident, confirmed reporting it to authorities, and expressed empathy towards the victims. He emphasized that Ashluxe does not condone violence, assault, or harassment and will cooperate fully with the investigation. This statement comes after Caroline Hutchings criticized Ash for his handling of the situation, accusing him of being rude and uncouth towards women. This is not the first controversy surrounding Ashluxe, as Yinka Ash previously called out singer Lyta for wearing a fake version of his brand, receiving backlash and even being referenced in Lyta’s new song. Despite this, Ashluxe remains a prominent brand in Nigeria, with notable figures like Yhemolee and Davido frequently wearing it.
