Popular Nollywood actress, Destiny Etiko, has strongly refuted claims that she had an affair with Matthew Ekeinde, the husband of renowned movie star Omotola Jalade. The allegations, which originated from a TikTok blogger, suggested that the Enugu-born actress was involved in a romantic relationship with Ekeinde, and that he had even purchased a car for her.
Addressing the rumors during a recent Instagram live session, Etiko dismissed the claims as entirely false. She emphasized that these accusations are part of ongoing attempts by certain individuals to tarnish her reputation.
“If you want to withhold the blessings of God in somebody else’s life and you want to grow, it is impossible,” Etiko stated. “People have always spoken ill about me, but the truth is, I’ve worked hard for 99.9% of what I have. I don’t rely on men for money, and I don’t understand why some people are so bitbitter.
Destiny Etiko further explained that she frequently buys herself a car on her birthdays because she enjoys changing her vehicle every year. She also addressed the viral photo of herself with Matthew Ekeinde, clarifying that it was taken over four years ago.
“Some bitter people took a picture I took with Omotola’s husband over four years ago and spun it into something it’s not,” she said. “I greeted him with the respect due to a senior colleague’s husband, asked for a selfie out of respect, and that was all there was to it.” The actress clarified.
