Nigerian dancehall sensation Cynthia Morgan has sharply criticized her former record label boss, Jude Okoye, following his recent public revelations. The controversy surrounding Okoye and his brothers, Paul and Peter Okoye, has intensified, with Morgan now weighing in on the drama.
In a series of pointed social media posts, Morgan addressed claims made by Okoye, who had recently shared his perspective amid the ongoing feud with his siblings. Morgan recounted her own experience with Okoye, asserting that she was not desperate for a record deal, as he implied.
Morgan took to her social media to set the record straight, stating, “Nobody begged you to sign anybody @judeengees. If at all it happened, I wasn’t there. The first time I met you and Paul was in Atlanta, and nobody mentioned anything about signing anyone. That failed girl you were involved with, Joy Tongo, was only asking for contacts to reach out when we got back to Nigeria. I wasn’t even in Lagos when Joy called me about you saying you would rather sign me.”
She further accused Okoye of perpetuating falsehoods, labeling his behavior as deceitful and expressing her frustration with the ongoing narrative. “Only in Nigeria would you find someone lying like this,” Morgan continued. “That’s witchcraft, Jude. Focus on your brothers and leave me alone.”
Morgan also conveyed her emotional distress, stating that the false claims have had a lasting impact on her life. “Imagine if the last time you found peace was in 2011; since meeting that girl and these people, my life has changed. Twelve years later, I am still being lied on. Please help me beg these people. I couldn’t sleep last night. PTSD is no joke. I am not finding it funny, @judeengees.”
Morgan’s outspoken response underscores the deep-seated issues and personal grievances she feels have been exacerbated by the public dispute.
