Osun PDP Chairman Criticizes Wike, Addresses Party Discipline Issues

Date:

Hon. Sunday Bisi, Chairman of the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed frustration over the continued outbursts and actions of Nyesom Wike, Minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Bisi stated during the “Frontliners” interview with the Osun State League of Veteran Journalists that the national PDP leadership is ready to address Wike’s behavior, which he described as embarrassing to the party.

Bisi assured that the party would soon take decisive action against Wike’s excesses, emphasizing that the PDP cannot tolerate such indiscipline. He drew a parallel to the state chapter’s swift handling of suspended members who were obstructing party progress.

Regarding the defection of Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Oyedokun to the APC, Bisi explained that Oyedokun left after the PDP rejected his appeal to reinstate Prince Dotun Babayemi, stating that maintaining discipline within the party was a priority.

Bisi also dismissed allegations that the Osun PDP follows directives from Governor Ademola Adeleke’s family, affirming that internal democracy governs party decisions. He praised the Adeleke dynasty for its support and commitment to the party’s success.

Lastly, Bisi expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the upcoming local government elections, clarifying that the state electoral commission, not INEC, would conduct the election unless constitutional changes occur.
