“Nigerians Are Suffering”- YCE To President Tinubu

Date:

The Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently address the growing hardship facing millions of Nigerians. In a statement issued by YCE Secretary General, Chief Oladipo Oyewole, the council highlighted the severe struggles many Nigerians are enduring due to rising costs of food, fuel, and power shortages.

While acknowledging Tinubu’s long-term vision for the country, the YCE stressed the importance of prioritizing immediate relief for the people. “Nigerians are suffering deeply,” Oyewole stated. “The President must go back to the drawing board and develop short-term strategies to ease the current hardship.”

The council criticized the government’s current efforts, such as the distribution of palliatives, which they claim have failed to reach those in need. Instead, they called for sustainable measures to improve living conditions, including stable electricity supply and affordable fuel.

The YCE also expressed concern over the increasing cost of living, urging the Federal Government to ensure that every Nigerian can benefit from the nation’s resources. “Immediate action is needed to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians and ensure proper governance,” the statement concluded.

As the country faces economic challenges, the elders urged the administration to take swift and decisive steps to provide relief and improve the welfare of its citizens.
