As Nigeria’s fuel market adjusts to deregulation, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) is pushing for direct purchases from the Dangote refinery. IPMAN leadership emphasizes the importance of bypassing intermediaries, such as the NNPC, to ensure the availability of petrol to the public. They argue that with a vast network of filling stations, they are well-positioned to directly engage with Dangote, fostering a more competitive and transparent market.
IPMAN also stressed that even if Dangote refuses to sell directly, they will continue sourcing fuel from NNPC and other suppliers.
