President Bola Ahmed Tinubu addressed members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the South-West Assembly held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos. He expressed confidence that Nigerians would soon recognize the benefits of the tough policies his administration is currently implementing.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Tinubu spoke to a gathering of prominent APC leaders, including governors, deputy governors, federal and state lawmakers, and former elected officials from the southwestern region.
In his remarks, President Tinubu acknowledged the criticism the administration has faced due to its reforms. He reassured APC members that the difficult decisions made today are essential for steering the nation toward long-term stability and growth.
“We acknowledge that our decisions have been tough, but they needed to be taken. The gains are at the end of the tunnel. That time will come when we will all be happy and thank our government for taking those decisions. Right now, I am not thinking of the next election but about the next generation.
This is why we are implementing reforms that are long overdue. This is the hallmark of a true leader.”
he stated,
emphasizing the importance of collective effort in navigating the current challenges.
Tinubu also reiterated that his focus is not on the upcoming 2027 elections but rather on enhancing the quality of life for Nigerians and establishing a prosperous future for the next generation. His administration is committed to enacting reforms that, although contentious now, are expected to yield significant benefits for the country in the near future.
