Nollywood actor and producer Yomi Fabiyi has brought to light a disturbing threatening message directed at a neighbor of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad. The message, reportedly received on September 11, 2024, alarmingly warned the neighbor and his children that their lives were at risk and indicated that their vehicle’s license plate number was known.
Fabiyi, an outspoken advocate for justice in the case surrounding Mohbad’s untimely death, revealed that the threatening communication was received shortly before he and the neighbor were set to meet with the technician responsible for the CCTV system installed at Mohbad’s residence. The footage from these cameras was anticipated to provide critical insights into the circumstances leading to the singer’s demise.
According to Fabiyi, the late singer’s home was equipped with active CCTV cameras strategically placed throughout the premises, including the staircase, living room, kitchen, backyard, and front gate. He emphasized that individuals present in the house during the time of the incident were aware of the events that transpired, and the recordings could yield vital information for the ongoing investigation.
“This was one of the threats sent to one of Mohbad’s neighbors on the 11th of September, 2024, prior to our meeting, so we could meet with the IT guy in charge of the house CCTV. I was meant to obtain the CCTV footage of what happened inside the house, showing how Mohbad died and what transpired. MOHBAD WAS LEFT TO DIE, AND THEY NEVER GET HIM MEDICAL ATTENTION.Those in the house knew what happened. There was active CCTV in Mohbad’s staircase, living room, kitchen, backyard, and front gate. I mean bold to say that they were all working as at the time Mohbad breathed his last. The few neighbors’ CCTV close to his house also has overwhelming details and accounts”JUSTICE FOR MOHBAD IS NON-NEGOTIABLE. If the Police and government want to kill more people just to cover up or want more people to die before they investigate thoroughly and allow this truth to be out, it is up to honest people and Nigerians to accept”“My free movement is temporarily taken,” Fabiyi shared. “I am on the run because they want to assassinate me for exercising my fundamental rights.”
He went on to accuse several individuals, including an actress, a transport union worker, a top police officer, and state officials, of being involved in the plot against him.
Despite the danger, Fabiyi remained defiant, insisting that justice would prevail.
“Justice for Mohbad! Aluta Continua!” he concluded.
The revelations from Fabiyi have intensified calls for a thorough investigation into Mohbad’s death and have spotlighted the urgent need for justice in the face of intimidation. As the story develops, it raises significant concerns about safety and accountability in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
