Falz: I Wasn’t Pressured to Become a Lawyer Like My Dad

Popular Nigerian singer Folarin Falana, professionally known as Falz, has clarified that he was not pressured to pursue law due to his father, Femi Falana’s, success.
In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Falz shared that he was actually inspired by the people his father fought for during his youth.

“I won’t say it was pressure, but from a young age, whenever I mentioned my name,  people would react, ‘Which Falana? Is it Femi Falana? Oh wow,'” Falz recounted. “Everyone had a story about how my dad helped them at some point and fought for them. It made me aspire to emulate his work, not because of pressure but because of admiration.”

Falz’s father’s dedication left a significant impression on him, leading him to study law. However, he only practiced for a short time before his music career took off. “I did practice law for almost two years. I started moving away from it in 2014 when my music career began to gain momentum,” he explaine
