I Turned Down $3m Offer to Perform at Trump’s New York Rally – 50 Cent

Date:

American rapper, Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent has revealed that he rejected a $3m offer to perform at Republican Party candidate Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally in New York.
The veteran rapper and film producer stated this during an interview on The Breakfast Club.

With the presidential election looming, DJ Envy asked 50: “Is it true Donald Trump tried to give you money to endorse him one time?”

50 Cent confirmed that he “got a call” and had also been asked to perform his song ‘Many Men, Wish Death’ during this year’s Republican National Convention for a similar sum.

50 replied: “I got a call — they wanted me for Sunday,” referring to the MSG rally, before revealing that Trump’s team offered him $3 million.

Explaining his decision to turn down the offer, the Queens, New York native said: “I’m afraid of politics. I do not like no part of politics. When you do get involved in it, no matter how you feel, someone passionately disagrees with you. I stay away from religion, I stay away from politics.”

He then joked: “That’s the formula for the confusion that has sent Kenya to japan. He said something about both of those things, and now he can only go to Japan.”

He explained that he turned down the offers because he’s afraid of politics due to its controversial nature.
“I didn’t even go far… I didn’t talk to them about that kinda stuff. I’m afraid about politics.

“It’s because when you do get involved in it, no matter how you feel, someone passionately disagrees with you,” he said.
50 confirmed that he also declined an invitation to perform at the Republican National Convention this past summer.
