President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Nigeria on his first official visit. Tinubu shared the news on his official X handle on Sunday.
He mentioned that the discussions during Modi’s visit will focus on exploring strategic and corporate relations between Nigeria and India. “Looking forward to welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his first visit to Nigeria, which is also the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to our dear country since 2007. Our bilateral discussions will seek to expand the strategic partnership between both countries and enhance cooperation in critical sectors. Welcome to Nigeria, PM Modi,” Tinubu wrote.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, early Sunday morning. Earlier, presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga had announced that Tinubu would host Modi on Sunday.
