Funke Akindele Shows Support for Femi Adebayo’s Upcoming Film Seven Doors
Renowned Nigerian actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has thrown her weight behind her colleague, Femi Adebayo, in promoting his highly anticipated new project, Seven Doors.
Akindele took to her Instagram page on Monday to share her excitement about the film, which is set to debut on Netflix on December 13. In her post, she wrote:
“Dem don open door o!!!!!
Can’t wait to see this Limited series #sevendoors by @femiadebayosalami. Congrats Femi!!! This one go loud o!!! Out on #Netflix December 13!!! Legggooooooo.”
Akindele’s enthusiastic endorsement adds to the growing anticipation for Seven Doors, which Femi Adebayo has hinted will surpass the success of his critically acclaimed movie Jagun Jagun.
In an interview with Independence in August, Adebayo expressed confidence in the film’s innovative concept and captivating setting.
“The next movie that I said is bigger than Jagun Jagun is titled Seven Doors. It’s set in two eras—the 18th century and the 19th century—which means we have the old-school setting with those 504s and Volkswagens, and it also takes us back to that kind of Jagun Jagun environment,” he explained.
The film promises to be a celebration of Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity, as Adebayo elaborated further:
“It’s a mix, featuring multiple tribes. It’s about a Yoruba king married to an Igbo woman, with a Hausa man coming to invest. It’s a showcase of Nigerian culture.”
As the December release date approaches, fans of both Funke Akindele and Femi Adebayo are eagerly awaiting what is shaping up to be a groundbreaking cinematic experience.
