BREAKING: Leicester City have parted company with Steve Cooper

Date:

Leicester City Football Club has announced the dismissal of manager Steve Cooper with immediate effect. This decision comes in the wake of a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Chelsea, a result that leaves the club precariously positioned just two points above the Premier League relegation zone.

The club has also parted ways with assistant manager Alan Tate and first-team coach Steve Rands, signaling a significant overhaul of its coaching staff. Leicester City expressed gratitude for the contributions of the departing staff but emphasized the need for a change in direction to ensure the team’s survival in England’s top flight.

In the interim, Ben Dawson will step in to oversee first-team training until a new manager is appointed. Dawson’s immediate priority will be to stabilize the squad as the club searches for a long-term solution to its managerial vacancy.

The decision to sack Cooper underscores the urgency within the Leicester City hierarchy to address the club’s underwhelming performance this season. With the team languishing near the relegation zone, the pressure is mounting to secure consistent results and regain the confidence of fans and stakeholders.
