Davido Praises Nigerian Talent: “The Best Doctors in America Are Nigerians”

Date:

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has sparked a conversation about the global influence of Nigerians, particularly in the professional and creative sectors.

Speaking during an interview on the Afric TV program, Davido claimed that the best doctors in the United States are of Nigerian descent, while also highlighting the growing prominence of African talent in various industries.

“The best doctors in America are Nigerians. You can search it,” Davido asserted. “Even in my record label [Sony Music], Africans bring the best ideas. That shows that our imagination is off the grid.”

The singer also emphasized Africa’s rising role in the global creative space. According to him, international streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime are increasingly sourcing ideas from African filmmakers, showcasing the continent’s storytelling prowess.

“Netflix and Amazon Prime come to Africa to get movie ideas. Now, when you come on Netflix, you will see about two Nigerian movies in the top 10. Africa is next, trust me. I feel like we have everything but just missing a couple of things,” he said.

While it is undeniable that Nigerians in the diaspora have made remarkable contributions to the medical field in the U.S., it’s worth noting that statistical data does not explicitly position Nigerians as the “best” doctors in America.

However, studies show that Nigerians are among the most educated immigrant groups in the United States, with many excelling in medicine, technology, and academia.

Davido’s remarks shine a light on the broader narrative of Africa’s impact on the world stage. From its doctors to its filmmakers, the continent’s contributions are being recognized across industries, bolstering pride and optimism about Africa’s future.
